OUR 2021 FAMILY READATHON
We just finished our second Family Readathon Fundraiser. Our 3GEN FAMILY READATHON was completed in February 2021. For eight weeks, Blair, Jackson and I along with our friend (Indu and her son, Ishan) read books to raise funds for two different local nonprofit organizations which provide food to families in need.
Jackson was the champion of our reading group, helping us exceed our goal of total books read.
We also want to acknowledge our sponsors who generously supported our fundraising goals to help families in need of food. We are ecstatic that for every dollar donated through our fundraising efforts, the local Food Bank was able to purchase 8 pounds of food at wholesale/bulk prices.
So many people across the country and around the world have been struggling to feed their families due to the drastic impact of the pandemic on jobs, health and the economy in general. We are proud to have been able to help other families in our area by our fundraising efforts. It's all about helping each other, when and how we can.
And you can, too! Go to our DIY FAMILY READATHON PAGE to get all the details to help families in your area.

Family Readathon to Benefit Local Humane Society

As authors and people who love to read, we decided to create our own fundraiser that we ran from December 2015 to April 2016.
With just the three of us, we encouaraged family and friends to sponsor our event to raise money for the Talbot Humane Society where Jackson rescued his two cats, Angel and Cookie, a few years earlier. That's where he also met a disabled cat who was the inspiration for our newest book, The Adventures of SUITCASE.THE.CAT. (coming late January 2021).
The local rescue shelter is also where Jackson volutneers as a trained reader to the cats.
This was a great way to spend the winter with an valid excuse for reading more books, while raising funds for a great cause!
